MOVE & MEDITATE
In darkness, there is no visual stimulation, which allows us to drop deeper into meditation, get out of your mind and into the body. A chance to go inwards and connect deeply with yourself. Dancing can boost your overall happiness, release serotonin and endorphins, balance the mind and body and is a great form of low impact cardiovascular exercise.
Arrive in a warm, lowly-lit, atmospheric and calming environment. There is nothing to learn or follow, it is simply a space to dance. Nobody is watching you. You will be guided into a gentle warm up, breath work and awareness of the body. Then you will be free to drop deep inside and dance. Connect with yourself, be wild and free. After moving we will experience the stillness of our bodies with some soothing sounds and singing bowls. You're welcome to stay and connect with our community for herbal tea and treats.
Dance to deep electronic, experimental, uplifting drumming and ambient music from all over the globe. People often come away feeling reformed, with a deeper conscious connection with nature, self and others. Experience a sense of liberation, purpose and self empowerment.
No experience needed.
This is a movement meditation. No alcohol permitted.
This event will start promptly at 6.30pm. Please arrive 10 minutes before starting time.
WHAT IS FIRM FEET?
Charlie Boyd is the founder of Firm Feet®, combining her experiences and qualifications with movement and integral thinking. She works with Macrobiotic healing arts: a blend of Taoist methodology, Traditional Chinese medicine healing system and living in rhythm with your body. Charlie runs Dance in the dark and other Movement Meditation classes in and around London. Charlie is a ‘Time to change’ champion and campaigner aiming to promote everyday mental health.
Charlie holds 1-2-1 body awareness coaching sessions and co-run Women’s workshops and retreats in Ireland and Portugal. The workshop integrating storytelling, movement, yoga, dance, ceramic making creating a nourishing and explorative space.
This Summer she will be launching This is a movement meditation. Firm Feet® Share - A space to share knowledge & experiences relating to eating distress
and body image issues. Softly guided group circle sessions for people with eating
disorders, body image issues and body dysmorphia.
